We just went for a bit of a look around and we went in the fort which was interesting and free for children up to 18. The walks into the forest looked interesting- we didn’t have time to do these and…Full review by alexsA9163CJ

Hi James, as I remember, this is not very wheelchair friendly, unfortunately :( If I am not mistaken, the boat was not designed for wheelchairs and the island is basically mostly flat, but with no firm roads, just the "forest" roads and "pavements" that are not firm, so that might be a problem. You can check pictures in my review: "When in Cannes, must visit this island! 2-3hours" Maybe you could try to call directly one of those ferry companies, we used Horizons-Lerins, so try to ask directly. Sorry for negative news :/ Enjoy travelling!

I would really love to see where the Man in the iron mask was imprisoned and the rest of the museum as I’m very interested in history. I will only be in Cannes for one day, Monday 18th September and from my research have found that some museums are closed. Will this museum be open on this date? My research has turned up conflicting information (some say closed because it’s a Monday and others saying it’s open because it’s still “high season”). Thank you in advance.

Q:
Is it possible to buy tickets on the spot or better to order in advance?
A:
It really isn't necessary to buy tickets in advance. I was able to walk right up and buy my 2 tickets with no line.

There is no accommodation that I have seen. The island is quite small and is mainly covered in woodland with lots of sandy dirt paths criss-crossing the place. There is the remains of an old fort and one or two little refreshment/sandwich cabins and that's about your lot. You can cover the whole island in an hour and a morning or afternoon is about all you would probably want to spent there. Having said that, it is worth a visit and ferry boats run back and forth from Cannes which is the place to find your accommodation - and it needn't be expensive either. Cannes is well situated for most other Riviera resorts too. Hope that helps you.
