As other reviewers have noted, Walhalla is well-preserved and genuine. We have been to Maldon, another historic town but felt it was over restored/almost fake. But Walhalla retains is original charm… Full review by Julie T

Walhalla surprised and was better than expected. The twom was neat, not at all tacky and the place looked as if people cared. A historic town that was done well and good for a short visit. Full review by Oldjack

We just love authenticity, and it doesn’t get much better than going to an old gold mining town that’s well preserved. It probably survives because it’s damp or wet 99% of the year, reducing the risk… Full review by PinotandCider
