When we went, we encountered a large group. But it was still worth going. A perfect venue. The weather was a little chilly, so I recommend you be careful and pack some clothes. Full review by Medesha J

Hi, I am planning to go to El Calafate for three days. Morning 9am of 7th July I'll be reaching there and shall return on 9th July evening 6pm. I have ceratin queries:- 1. What are the excurssions I must go for? 2. What the excurssions are called in terms of Tourism companies? 3. I just drafted to visit Boat ride and national park on first day (What is the name of this excursion, I dont know. Please help.). On second day, planning to trek for Fitz Roy. On third day, Perito Moreno and walking on the glacier. Is this feasible? 4. Do I need any special shoes for Fitz Roy trekking? If yes, then how to manage for only one day trek? I mean , is it possible to rent? Where? How much? 5. Is it ok, to take any packages from the travel agencies or just use public transport? 6. What are the names of all the excurssions, I have listed for three days? 7. Approx, how much shall be the expenditure for the all three days? As, I am travelling with my one friend and our hotel and flight tickets are booked, is the renting of the car good option? Will it be cheap? Please guide.

I was only there for a day. We went to Perito Moreno and viewed it from a boat (waste of time) and from the paths and platforms built next to the glacier (awesome). We didn't have time to hike - good luck. One food tip - the restaurant at Hotel Posada in town was very good - great breakfast and the lamb at dinner was wonderful.

we are traveling to calafate next month with our 3 year old son and 7 year old daughter. We would like to take a tour of Perito Moreno, and are wondering if the tour companies allow a 3 year old? If so, which tour company do you recommend? and is the 3 year old free or reduced price?

We booked our tour through Southern Spirit. There was a baby on the tour with us so I'm sure the 3 year old would be ok. But check with them. You can stop in and ask them any questions you may have. They are in the center of town. I don't know their address but you can Google it. One thing to watch is the weather. High wind days should be avoided if possible. If you only have one day and it is very windy I would recommend just take a bus out to see the glaciers. You can get all the info in town or possibly on line. Hope this helps. It's a great experience! Enjoy!!

Hello! We're staying in a hotel in El Calafate. We are planning to go here on our own and not on a tour. We are already coming from Antarctica so we just want to see the Perito Moreno Glacier from the walkway. Where is the bus station in El Calafate? Should I buy the tickets online now or can I buy them when we get there? The bus usually returns at 4pm as per their website. If we leave at 9am, can we do a lot of things in the park? Thank you!

1) Where is the bus station in El Calafate ? About 3 km east of the city center in El Calafate. 2) Should I buy the tickets online now or can I buy them when we get there? You can buy the park entrance tickets at the entry point itself. The price is 500 Argentine pesos and they do not accept credit cards. 3) The bus usually returns at 4pm as per their website. If we leave at 9am, can we do a lot of things in the park ? You will be able to visit the different viewpoints in the park in your alloted time. But you will not be able to do the minitrekking on the glacier itself as it is monopolized by one travel company - Hielo y aventura. They have an office in the city center in El Calafate.
Q:
