Seeing the castle up close was definitely worth the walk up the hill! Was crowded but the views were great. Easy to find and a must see. Full review by FarAway24288949193

You can buy the tickets at the castle, but, to avoid a queue ( even if small) and make most of my time, I would recommend buying it beforehand. Prague city pass is a great option( I would definitely recommend buying it from a tourist information centre. They would tell you things that you would not have known and offers that would make the most of your visit enjoyable. But, please bit the audio guide beforehand.. they sell out too fast and you would want one to have a complete experience of the castle.
Q:
For the Circuit Ticket, can we pay with cash when we get there or should we book online in advance?
A:
The initial entrance in to Prague Castle is free. You can pay on the day if you wish to explore inside e.g the Cathedral.

Can you tell me if the audioguide is only for one person and is it worth renting? Seems expensive for 2 of us. Would one do? Also, if you can't use flash, will the cell phone cameras take reasonable pictures inside? Is the inside of the castle still being repaired so that sections are blocked off? Thank you so much!
A:
We only went into the courtyard. Were told it wasn’t open but certain times of the year since it is a working seat of govt.

Hi, may I ask do I really need to purchase tickets for entrance to Prague Castle. At what instances do I need to buy a ticket? Because I’m getting mixed up with reviews saying no need to buy and some say need to buy. I’m kinda confused. And also, if I need to buy ticket, can I just pay on arrival with their local currency in cash? I may just wanna see the St Vitus Cathedral from outside. Thank you.

We visited the cathedral as part of a guided tour of Prague that we purchased at the Reception in our hotel. The tour cost €64 for 2 people. We were collected by bus at our hotel & were accompanied by a multi-lingual guide. It was a half day morning tour & it was a quick way to get a tour of the whole city so we could then decide what we really liked & what we would like to go back to again to visit for a longer time. As part of the tour we were brought to the castle (=a number of palace buildings built at different times) & to the cathedral which is a massive building very ornate both inside & out. It has a huge door - no longer used but I could not reach the handle it was so high up. We did not have to pay anything extra to go into the cathedral but we only visited the ground floor. We did not have time to do any further exploring but it was perfect as we saw & experienced the building & both inside & out. I am not sure what the format or charges are if one arrived with a guide i.e. not part of a tour. We were there in November & it was cold so bring an extra warm coat, gloves, hat & warm socks. There's nothing worse than being cold & miserable. :-))
