The death toll for the Eaton Fire was revised from eight to six deaths. It has become one of the top 20 most destructive wildfires in the state.

The Eaton fire surpassed 14,000 acres Friday and was 15% contained as of Saturday morning. It has burned more than 7,000 structures, including homes, apartment or commercial buildings and vehicles. It also substantially damaged five school campuses in Altadena and scorched more than 21 square miles.

A second wildfire fueled by dangerously high winds sparked in Los Angeles County on Tuesday and exploded in growth overnight.

Local firefighters were sent to Los Angeles County to battle the Eaton Fire this week. The fire burned over 14,000 acres of land, destroyed 972 structures, injured five and killed five people since it began on Tuesday, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
