Alfa Anderson, lead singer of the pioneering disco band Chic, has died at the age of 78. Niles Rodgers, the group’s founder, shared the news on social media last week (Dec. 17).

Vocalist Alfa Anderson, of the iconic band Chic, has died at age 78. Anderson, who was the lead singer for the band, sang on his tracks such as “Good Times” and “Le Freak.” The singer’s bandmate Nile Rodgers paid tribute to Anderson with a heartfelt post on Instagram.
