At home this season, the Royals beat the Sunrisers by nine wickets, beat MI Cape Town by six wickets, beat beat Joburg Super Kings by six wickets, beat Pretoria Capitals by 11 runs and beat Durban’s Super Giants by six wickets.

Following their 6-wicket loss to the Paarl Royals on Monday evening, Durban's Super Giants can no longer qualify for the knock-out stages of this year's SA20 competition. It's been a tough few weeks for Lance Klusener's charges, as they've only won one of their nine games.

Joe Root hit 78 not out as his SA20 side Paarl Royals beat Pretoria Capitals by 11 runs. Opening the batting, Root hit eight fours and two sixes in his 56-ball innings, anchoring the Royals to 140-4 in their full 20 overs. He put on an unbeaten 59 stand with skipper David Miller after a run of early wickets.
