Tahlequah the killer whale made headlines and broke hearts after she was spotted carrying the body of her dead calf for 17 days. This month, sightings of the orca show she has recently given birth again .

An orca who made headlines in 2018 after she carried her dead calf on her head for more than two weeks and a distance of 1,000 miles has given birth again, according to the Center for Whale Research.

A team of researchers observe the new calf and confirm it is female, but they are concerned about its health after it was seen "not looking lively".
