The new Women's Super League marks the start of a new era for reigning champions Chelsea, with long-serving boss Emma Hayes having departed in summer to start a new adventure with the USA Women's team.

A Kelly Gago brace, as well as strikes from Katja Snoeijs and Honoka Hayashi, saw Everton Women climb to eighth in the WSL with a convincing win over Leicester City. The Blues came out of the traps early and were rewarded after five minutes through Gago but were pegged back just over ten minutes later when Shannon O’Brien levelled for the Foxes.

Everton continued to move away from danger in the Women's Super League with an emphatic win over struggling Leicester City at Walton Hall Park. Kelly Gago continued the good start to her Everton career with two goals, while Katja Snoeijs and Honoka Hayashi also scored for the Toffees.

A seven-goal thriller kicked of gameweek 13 as the Gunners stole a 4-3 victory out from under the feet of Manchester City at Joie Stadium. Liverpool were able to solidify their spot in the mid-table fight with a narrow win over West Ham United, whilst Merseyside rivals Everton flew past Leicester City in a 4-1 victory at home.

Everton Women take on Leicester City in the WSL on Sunday, 2 November, at 2pm (GMT) before a double-header in both the FA Cup and league with Chelsea later in the month.

There is still plenty of time left in the season for things to change, but Everton should remain comfortably in mid-table while Leicester, just three points and one place above Crystal Palace, remain deep in trouble.

A girl was left distressed after being hit in the face by a bottle during Everton's win over Leicester City on Saturday. Merseyside Police, along with Leicestershire Police, is appealing for information after the schoolgirl was hit in the face by the bottle thrown from the away section at Goodison Park during the Blues' 4-0 win.
