Jalen Hurts pulled out his Andy Reid thesaurus and found every way possible to fall on the pirate sword after the Eagles were shot from the Raymond James Stadium cannon into their bye week with an abomination — a 33-16 defeat that felt even more lopsided and featured some of the same problems plaguing the Eagles as they limp to a 2-2 start.

In Sunday’s loss, Hurts and the offense played without receivers A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and right tackle Lane Johnson. The Eagles haven’t had Brown since opening night when the three-time Pro Bowler caught five passes for 119 yards and a touchdown. All three of those players should be back after the Week 5 bye.
