Justin Bieber has unfollowed Usher on Instagram. The action has sparked much speculation and questions from fans who are wondering why the singer would unfollow his longtime mentor and close friend. Justin and Usher have known each other since 2008 when the Canadian pop star was 14 year-old and Usher signed him to his joint record label with Scooter Braun.

Almost two decades on, Justin appears to have quietly cut ties with his former mentor Usher, 46, so we look back on their close 17-year friendship. Usher didn’t discover Justin but he was there early on in the Yummy singer’s career, having been brought on board immediately by Scooter.
