There is no official word if the 97th annual Academy Awards will be canceled. As of Jan. 14, 2025, the show is slated to air on its original date. Though the Oscars ceremony is set to go on as planned, the annual Oscars Nominees Luncheon—scheduled for Feb. 10—was canceled.

• The Oscar Nominees Luncheon, which was originally scheduled for Monday, Feb. 10, has been canceled. (As in recent years, nominees will still be invited to small dinners, closer to the date of the Oscars ceremony itself, with others who are nominated in their category.)

The Oscars have made additional changes to this year's schedule because of the wildfires ravaging Los Angeles. The new schedule will extend the nominations voting window to Jan. 17, push back the date of the nominations announcement to Jan.
