Naval analyst H I Sutton has published a report in Naval News highlighting the appearance of between three and five new “special and unusual” barges at Guangzhou Shipyard in southern China. Such barges should not be “special” or “unusual”. In fact, they are a relatively ordinary sight at riverside and coastal construction projects.

India is not looking to reduce the number of troops along the northern frontier in winter, the country's army chief said on Monday adding that it will review summer deployment based on outcome of negotiations with China.

Stating that the situation along the northern borders with China is “sensitive but stable,” Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Monday said that troop deployment along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) will not be reduced this winter.
