Former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina needed only 53 minutes to storm past junior world No.1 Emerson Jones 6-1, 6-1 in the first round of the Australian Open.

Rybakina, a beaten finalist in Melbourne two years ago, breezed past her Australian opponent 6-1 6-1 in just 53 minutes on Tuesday. It marked the quickest match of the 2025 tournament so far.

Sixth seed Elena Rybakina stormed into the second round with a comfortable win over 16-year-old local wildcard Emerson Jones. Emma Raducanu, who was back in action after three months, looked wobbly in her first-round win.

Emma Raducanu, playing in her first competitive match since November, defeated No. 26 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova 7-6 (4), 7-6 (2) on Tuesday to reach the second round of the Australian Open.

Emma Raducanu played down her serving struggles during the first round of the Australian Open, and is now looking ahead to a big challenge against Amanda Anisimova.
