Todd Longstaffe Gowan, the Historic Royal Palaces gardener, told the UK's DailyMail that the disgraced Duke of York's Royal Lodge home is "impossible" to maintain at its current state.

Prince Andrew's £30million home is in a “shocking state” as Duke of York is reportedly attempting to maintain the 21 acres of garden surrounding Royal Lodge. The disgraced duke has funded himself since King Charles axed his £1million annual allowance to force Andrew to downsize royal residency in a bid to cut royal costs.

Andrew, who was poised to leave the Royal Lodge after his brother King Charles cut him off financially, is trying to pinch a few pennies by developing a green thumb. “It is in a shocking state,” Todd Longstaffe-Gowan, the Historic Royal Palaces gardener, told the Daily Mail of the mansion’s worse-for-wear grounds.

According to PR expert Mark Borkowski, Prince Andrew's apparent isolated life could be down to his lack of public opportunities, following his stepback from royal life.

Prince Andrew has been branded a "hapless victim" in a strong defence issued for the disgraced Duke of York. The Duke of York fell under scrutiny towards the end of last year when his connections to an alleged Chinese spy came to light.
