The family of Rubi Vergara, the freshman who was gunned down at Abundant Life Christian School earlier this week, shockingly expressed forgiveness for the teenager’s killer at her funeral Saturday where hundreds came to mourn her.

The first of two victims in Monday's Madison school shooting has been identified as Rubi Patricia Vergara, 14. Her family authorized the release of the Madison teen's obituary early Wednesday evening, according to Gunderson East Funeral and Cremation in Monona.

MADISON, Wis. - Funeral services were held on Saturday, Dec. 21 for Rubi Vergara, the 14-year-old girl who died in the shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison. The funeral service for Vergara was held at City Church in Madison, at 11 a.m. The burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

The 14-year-old was one of two people killed in a shooting at Abundant Life Christian School when one of her classmates opened fire in a second-floor classroom.
