Singapore Airlines Ltd. says it doesn’t plan to rein in expanding its capacity despite previously warning of a tougher outlook as competition from rivals intensifies.

Singapore Airlines on Friday flagged its earnings would stay under pressure despite robust travel demand in the second half of the year, while it reported a profit fall reflecting stiff market competition coupled with rising costs.

The fall in profits was due to "increased capacity and stronger competition in key markets," the airline said.
