Garbage truck drivers and other council staff have walked off the job in Ipswich as part of ongoing industrial action. Sixty thousand bins have already not been collected over two days in the region.

Residents in the south-east Queensland city of Ipswich could be forced to deal with smelly, overflowing bins over the Christmas break as a pay dispute between unions and the council continues.
