This brings the nonprofit organization's total contributions to the Motion Picture & Television Fund over the past week to $1 million.

The Oscars have made additional changes to this year's schedule because of the wildfires ravaging Los Angeles. The new schedule will extend the nominations voting window to Jan. 17, push back the date of the nominations announcement to Jan.

The body that awards the Oscars said Monday it was cancelling its ritzy nominees' luncheon, as Los Angeles grapples with enormous wildfires. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences also moved its nomination announcement online, as Hollywood tries to navigate the sombre mood at a time it would usually be celebrating award season.

• The Oscar Nominees Luncheon, which was originally scheduled for Monday, Feb. 10, has been canceled. (As in recent years, nominees will still be invited to small dinners, closer to the date of the Oscars ceremony itself, with others who are nominated in their category.)

There is no official word if the 97th annual Academy Awards will be canceled. As of Jan. 14, 2025, the show is slated to air on its original date. Though the Oscars ceremony is set to go on as planned, the annual Oscars Nominees Luncheon—scheduled for Feb. 10—was canceled.

The U.K. tabloid The Sun posted a story to its website on Tuesday evening suggesting that the Academy is consulting a committee of A-listers about whether to proceed with the ceremony on March 2.
