Bill Byrge, the librarian turned actor who was a regular in the Ernest movies, died January 9, 2025 in Nashville at age 92.

"He was a beautiful soul who made people laugh without even trying," his cousin, Sharon Chapman, wrote on Facebook.

While he worked at a library in Nashville, he played Bobby in four of those films and on a Saturday morning kids show.
