Since 2022, the City Council, the County Board, and the State of Wisconsin Governor’s Office has proclaimed Feb. 4 Transit Equity Day. The day, partially chosen to commemorate Rosa Parks’ birthday, aims to bring awareness to unequal access to public transit.

The Alameda County Board of Supervisors publicly interviewed district attorney candidates and will select an interim DA who will serve until 2026.

The Wayne County Board of Supervisors will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. for their first meeting of 2025, tackling a packed agenda that includes budget adjustments, retirements, and several infrastructure and safety initiatives. It’ll be the first meeting after County Administrator Rick House told supervisors he’d be retiring in late-March.
