The United States has begun separate meetings with delegations from Ukraine and Russia in Saudi Arabia as the administration of President Donald Trump pushes to broker a peace agreement between the two countries.

Talks in Riyadh between Ukrainian and US officials, part of an effort to end Russia’s three-year invasion of its neighbor, started on Sunday afternoon, Ukraine’s defense minister said. The discussions are expected to be followed on Monday by a meeting between the US and Russia.

Russia and the United States at the talks on Ukraine in the future will touch upon issues related to the verification of the ceasefire, the peacekeeping contingent and the ownership of territories. This was stated on the CBS television channel by National Security Adviser to the President of the United States Mike Waltz.
