Super Typhoon Man-yi pummelled the Philippines' most populous island on Sunday, with the national weather service warning of flooding, landslides and huge waves as the storm sweeps across the archipelago nation.

Typhoon Man-yi was bringing heavy rain and powerful winds to the Philippines on Sunday, hours after making landfall in a nation still recovering from a series of recent storms that killed more than 160 people and caused widespread damage.
