The New York Jets fired Joe Douglas this week. Savage, 59, was previously a senior football advisor for the team since 2019 when Douglas was originally hired. Savage previously worked with Douglas with the Philadelphia Eagles and also worked with other teams including the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens:

The move follows the firing of coach Robert Saleh and signals further change may be in store, bringing quarterback Aaron Rodgers’s future into question.

The overhaul of the Jets front office continued on Tuesday afternoon when owner Woody Johnson fired general manager Joe Douglas. Douglas compiled an underwhelming 30-64 record in his 5+ seasons as GM, with not a single winning season or playoff appearance on his resume during that time.
