Moped rider dies following crash near Kapiolani Park
HONOLULU (Island News) -- A 30-year-old moped rider died after a serious collision on Monsarrat Avenue in Waikiki on Wednesday night. Just after 9:40 PM, the moped rider, traveling eastbound, rear-ended an unoccupied parked vehicle. The impact caused the rider to be pinned beneath the vehicle, requiring emergency personnel to extract him.
