TORONTO — No team in the NHL scored more five-on-five goals than the Maple Leafs last season. In fact, no team over the previous four seasons scored more five-on-five goals than the Leafs. They had 25 goals more than the next closest team ( Colorado) and 42 more than the team after that ( Florida ).

Those emotions quickly melted away for the Maple Leafs head coach. Berube did what he could behind the bench — including putting his sluggish lines in a blender — but nothing stuck in Toronto's ugly 3-0 loss to the Ottawa Senators.

BOTTOM LINE: The Toronto Maple Leafs take on the Ottawa Senators with a three win streak intact. Toronto has a 9-5-2 record overall and a 4-1-1 record in Atlantic Division games. The Maple Leafs have gone 9-0-1 when scoring three or more goals.

Linus Ullmark got his first shutout as a Senator but the story of the night was Ottawa putting together its most complete 60 minute effort in a long time.
