The New York Jets will soon have a new head coach -- and it appears they are getting the guy they wanted all along.According to CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathon Jones, the Jets will hire Aaron Glenn, who just finished his fourth season as the defensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions.

When Dan Campbell, another former Saints assistant and the head coach of the Lions, took over in Detroit, he brought Glenn with him to lead the defensive unit. Now, three seasons later, Glenn is adopting a similar staff-building approach to Campbell's.

Aaron Glenn has significant ties with both the Jets and Saints. The Jets drafted Glenn, a cornerback, with the 12th overall selection in the 1994 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M. He'd play the first eight of his 15 NFL seasons with the Jets, intercepting 24 passes and returning three for touchdowns while earning two Pro Bowls.
