South Sudan’s government called for the Dar Petroleum Operating Co. to begin resuming oil output on Wednesday, days after neighboring Sudan — through which crude flows to the coast — reopened the route for exports.

South Sudan could resume oil production "as early as tomorrow" almost a year after fighting in neighbouring Sudan ruptured a key pipeline, the government said Tuesday.After months of shutdown, South Sudan's government said production would resume from part of a facility operated by Dar Petroleum Operating Company (DPOC).

The lifting of force majeure will allow South Sudan to resume pumping as much as 150,000 barrels a day of crude oil to an export terminal on Port Sudan. The bulk of the crude is exported to refiners in China and Malaysia. South Sudan's petroleum ministry couldn't be reached for an immediate comment.
