Doom 2016 plays a lot more like an old arena shooter like the Unreal Tournament games or Quake 3 except as a campaign. If a player isn't used to the high mobility, dodging projectiles and navigating vertical combat spaces even that first gorenest with the imps can be pretty tough!
It's me or is Doom 2016 visually better than Doom Eternal?
Guys Doom 2016 is 100% better looking than Eternal. I recently upgraded from gtx 970 sli to an rtx 2080 super and was able to Max out the video settings with no problem. Unfortunately in doom eternal the level of detail is no where near doom 2016. Also no option to change AA settings anywhere. Disappointing to say the least from ID/Bethesda.

Jun 1, 2016 · It only took 7 years to figure it out. Chat GPT got me close with the AutoHotKey script, but I had to add the bottom 2 lines to make it work the way we all love. I saved the Doom_2016_Crouch.ahk file to my desktop, double click to run it and start the game.

Doom (2016) I have been flipping back and forth between the two. It seems like with Vulkan I get some odd crashes (such as when using the Steam in-game browser), OpenGL seems more stable.
How are Doom 2016 and Eternal so phenomenally well optimized?
Doom 2016 and Eternal were the first AAA games I played when I upgraded my computer, and I was getting 120-140 FPS with all settings maxed out. I figured that's how my computer would be able to handle every AAA game, but a lot of them hover around 60FPS until I lower settings for things like fog and shadows.
