Storm accompanied the rest of the X-Men to New York City to confront Apocalypse and defeat him. They were successful. Since then, Storm and Quicksilver have furthered their relationship while continuing to fight for Magneto's dream of coexistence.

In the 1980s, she admired Mystique and was empowered by Apocalypse, but eventually opposed him in a decisive battle. Storm, known as Ororo Munroe, played a key role in saving Wolverine and Rogue from Sabretooth's attack. She and Cyclops intervened, with Cyclops using his optic blast to counter Sabretooth and free Rogue.
