Bobby Black with his brother Larry used to play this San Jose bar called Cowtown, and the Commander Cody & The Lost Planet Airmen legend has it that that's where they first saw Bobby perform and led to them hiring Bobby into the group.

Jan 23, 2017 · The Steel Guitar Forum. Glynn Andrews passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017. He was 80. When Bobby Black left the Cowtown Band to join Commander Cody in 1971, I was happy for him, but a little sad for me, since Bobby had been my mentor and the best source for me of live steel guitar inspiration in the region.

Nashville 112 Speaker Recommendation? : The Steel Guitar Forum
Oct 1, 2024 · Also, the 1203 speaker that you show in your photo is in a 90s era Nashville 112E cabinet configured for steel guitar. They were also used in earlier 80s models of some guitar amps. These speakers have been out of production for years now. No chance of finding a new one unless someone has a NOS or perhaps a used one.

Jan 4, 2022 · I was fortunate to be at a club in San Jose on Tuesday 25 January, 1977. So we're talking about a real working club band, the Jeff Young Group. I was knocked out by this amazing pedal steel guitarist who I was told was Jimmy Webb from Seattle. The resultant C-90 of that night has remained an all time favourite (I'm Australian - hence the spelling).
